Abstract
Bilingualism or multilingualism and the use of the official language or mother tongue in the teaching-learning process and curricula is one of the real challenge of education systems in the world.The aim of the study is to examine the ways in which different educational systems deal with it and to analyze educational perspectives on education in the official language or bilingualism. the research method is deductive reasoning. The results showed that the world's educational systems have three types exposure to the subject including flow and gradual, and simultaneous .Despite the conflicting views , for various reasons, including the emphasis of upstream documents, the internationalization of curricula, facilitating and increasing geographical and social mobility, and the guarantee and enforce ability of having a curriculum, in practice, in most educational systems in the world, including the Iranian educational system, education in the official language is preferred over education in the mother tongue.
