As it is obvious, our peer review procedure at the Iranian Journal of Comparative Linguistic Research comprises two key phases aimed at meticulously examining the academic quality of submissions.
Phase One: Initial Review (12-16 Working Days):
When a manuscript is submitted, The editor-in-chief accompanying the managing editors initiates an initial review to verify its relevance to the journal’s scope. Within a span of 12 to 16 working days, the paper is assessed to determine whether it should proceed to the external review phase.
Phase Two: External Review (Up to 8 Weeks):
Manuscripts that successfully pass the initial review receive further evaluation from two independent scholars. At least one of these reviewers will be external, ensuring an unbiased perspective. Reviewers are given a timeframe of six weeks for their assessments, though the search for suitable reviewers might extend this duration. Their feedback and recommendations are crucial in informing the final decision.
Final Editorial Decision:
The editor-in-chief, considering the reviewers' insights, makes the conclusive decision regarding the manuscript. This decision can lead to acceptance, rejection, or, in certain situations, a request for additional review. Moreover, Authors can look forward to receiving constructive feedback and a fair assessment of their work.
