Abstract

The word xvahl “bent” occurs several times in the classical Persian texts. It is derived from the root *hvak- (< IE. *sṷek-) “to bend”. Beside this word, in Persian Language, we have xvahl(a), xul, xol “bent”, and xol “mad, stupid” (cf. kos-xol “stupid”) that are derived from the same root.

Further, in this paper, I have discussed the words suhra, guna, kāj/ kāž, and Kalāž(a).
