Abstract

When speakers of two or more languages interact, due to geographical, political, cultural, or commercial circumstances, they, inevitably influencing one another. This interaction leads to a phenomenon known as language contact. Such contact occurs when speakers of different languages interact very closely. Language contact can happen at linguistic borders or as a result of migration, where one language acts as the underlying layer, leading to convergence, borrowing, and reinterpretation.
This book examines the results of language contact between the Kurdish dialects of Sanandaj, New Arami, Persian, Gorani, and Suleymaniyya Kurdish. This book which consists of 12 chapters, each addressing the phonological, morphological, syntactic, and pragmatic aspects of these languages, has studied the languages meticulously.
