The Efficacy of the Computer-Assisted Nonlinear Dynamic Approach in Developing Iranian EFL Learners' Communicative Competence

Abstract

We investigated the effectiveness of applying CANDA to improve communicative competence among Iranian EFL learners. To this end, we used mixed methods approach for data collection and analysis. In light of the research findings it can be reported that the experimental participants who received CANDA-based educational intervention showed considerable improvement in communicative competence. The results indicate that using the CANDA as the CALL instructional framework produce significantly positive changes among the EFL learner. Therefore, using CANDA as the CALL instructional design will generate good results in communicative competence. Drawing on the triangulation of qualitative and quantitative data source, the main pedagogical implication of the study is that using CANDA for the purpose of developing communicative competence has proved successful.
