The present study is going to investigate Persian week-day names based on three universal criteria including universal patterns of week-day naming, week-day Salience and word-formation processes. The results show that Persian week-day names are formed in accordance with numeral pattern . Findings of the research reveal the consistency of Persian for the second criteria’s universal. Since, as like as the hierarchy which is presented in this respect, Saturday is the most salient week-day name in Persian. Results of the last criteria show that borrowing is the most frequent approach for week-day name formation in Persian. Some other languages may borrow Persian week-day names including some Altaic (Uzbek, Kyrgyz ...) and Iranian (Zazaki, Tati ...) Languages. Beside them, some other Altaic languages (Turkish, Gagauz, Tatari, ...) borrowed Persian word, bazar, and Urdu as an Indian Language borrowed Persian word, hafte, for making the name of some week-day names in their languages.
