Abstract

In recent decades, several books on the subject of Persian writing and editing have been published by some professors and experts of the Persian language, but they are generally considered to be the personal views of those scholars. In the meantime, the only spelling instruction that reflects the collective view of Persian Literature academics, linguists and related scholars is the orthography approved by the Persian Language and Literature Academy, which was first published in 2001 and its revised edition was published at the end of 2022. In the current research, it is attempted to compare the "previous version" of the approved Persian Orthography with its "new edition" and points out advantages and disadvantages of the "new edition". The result of this comparative survey showed that although the "new edition" has been improved in several cases, the review of some suggestions will make it more practical.
