A Study of Experiencer Constructions in Juboni Dialect of Tati

Abstract

Juboni is one of Tati dialects which is itself one of northwest Iranian languages. Juboni is nowadays spoken in the village Jubon. This village is located in the Southern Rostam Abad in Rudbar district in Gilan province. This study tries to study experiencer constructions in Juboni and shows that these constructions have distinct characteristics from other constructions. The verb in these sentences is not an action verb, but it refers to a mental or sensory process. The verb in these sentences needs an experiencer semantic role. In other words, the semantic role of subject in these sentences is experiencer and not agent.
