Abstract
The present study, using a corpus-based, descriptive, analytical, and historical approach, has examined the suffix "-ba:n". The purpose of this research is to answer the questions: a) Is the suffix "-ba:n" natural based on natural morphology criteria? b) Does the agentive suffix "ba:n" conform to the principles of natural conjugation? c) How are the changes of productivity of the suffix "-ba:n". The results indicate that the suffix "-ba:n" is polysemous and the formal relationship between structure and concept cannot explain the polysemy of the word. So, the same grammatical category of the stems, and it is not possible to predict the meaning of the suffix "-ba:n" and the general meaning of the words. Due to the lack of semantic composability in words, none of them have complete semantic clarity.
