In this essay, we study transformation of linguistic representation of religion in thetexts of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. This research attempts to reveal what political events trigger the linguistic representation of religion by Shah and how these representations are used to foreground favorite concepts and background those which are not favorable. Thus, all spoken and written texts produced by Shah is studied. The results indicate that religion is not represented the same by Shah. Having studied the data, we reach to five historical periods which show the best the transformation of linguistic representation in the texts of Shah. These five periods respectively are: first period, religion for unity (1320-1332), second period, 28 Mordad coup (1332-1334), third period, Cento treatment (1334-1341), fourth period, white revolution (1341-1348) and fifth period, Palestine issue (1348-1357). Among these periods, the most highlighted linguistic representation of religion belongs to the fourth period, i.e. white revolution.

Word-formation through reduplication is one of the prevalent processes in Persian morphology. One of the frequently used Persian categories as reduplicated elements is verb. The present study, using Morphological Doubling Theory (Inkelas & Zoll 2005, henceforth MDT), explores the structure and semantic of Persian reduplicated constructions whose both elements are verbs. Using some Persian data classified as synonym and antonym constructions, the present study evaluates MDT essential claim as regards resulting reduplication through the repetition of given morpho-semantic features and not necessarily phonological copying. The data are gathered through people’s daily natural conversations, written works in Persian morphology and authors’ intuition. This study justifies Persian word-formation through reduplication in MDT framework.

Languages differ with regard to the object markers. Object may be unmarked in one language, marked in another, and still it may or may not be marked in the other. Also, it is possible for objects in one language to be marked differently. The differences in object marking in different languages are dealt with as Differential Object Marking and properties like animacy of the object referents and referentiality are supposed to be important. Most of the studies done in Persian consider properties of objects as the crucial factor in this phenomenon. This article, however, regards object affectedness as the underlying reason for differential object marking to which other factors are related.

The present paper aims to analyze the euphemistic mechanisms in the Persian language based on Crespo Fernandez's discursive approach. From this perspective, euphemism can be viewed as a twofold phenomenon: first, as a process which acts on taboo concepts traditionally analyzed as such in the investigation of linguistic interdiction, as indicated before (death, sex, etc.); second, as a set of discursive tactics which intend to model that verbal behavior which does not conform to expectations and conventions of politeness. Under this point of view, euphemism responds fundamentally to a social interdiction which has as its prime aim to maintain interpersonal ties. After analyzing the behaviors of the Persian data, the euphemistic mechanisms consist of lexical substitution and euphemistic discursive strategies like Mitigating Apology Expressions, Pseudo-Imperative Expressions, Hedging Model Verbs, Impersonalization, and Mitigating Devices.

This paper presents a method for designing and building a speech database for Persian TTS systems taking account of Persian prosodic structure. This collection, containing 2826 phonetically and prosodically rich utterances, was recorded under studio conditions with a female voice talent speaker. In addition to common practice of covering phonetic units, the coverage of prosodic units has been considered in preparation of this collection as a novel procedure in building Persian databases. The current database consists of sound files and their corresponding manually-corrected orthographic and phonetic transcriptions. Finally, we used the prepared database to do speech synthesis using a statistical-parametric method. The subjects evaluated the generated voices 4.3 in terms of MOS criterion.

A Reflection on uncommon Turkish Words in Masnavi Ma`navi It is a regular, legal and inevitable phenomenon that differenf languages have interrelation with each other, so the analysis of Turkish words has done in this way. These words were not common in Farsi and it was an unusual borrowing, so we have do our best to introduce, translate and analyse these words in terms of etymology in order to describe the interrelation of these two languages and also to show the developments of these words in terms from semantic and phonetics of linguistics and comparative literature. Keywords: Masnavi Ma`navi, Turkish words, philology, etymology.

The study of the relationship between the frequency of single words of the Qur'an and their length according to their number of letters shows an inverse relationship between the two. It means that the shorter words are more frequent than longer words, This relationship that was observed by Zipf, is known as Zipf's law; in the present study was determined that Zipf's law is applicable to 26 Suras besides that in the entire Qur'an applies too. The results of study of the law in various languages have shown that this law in every language applies to particular range, in the present study was determined that Qur'anic words shorter than four letters are not taken into account, and we found that the equation with the general form F% = exp (a + b*L + c*L2) approximates the observed frequencies reasonably well, In the two modes entire Qur'an and its Suras separately.

The present research explores the conceptual metaphors in the computer sciences within the framework of cognitive linguistics. The method of this study is descriptive and our data are from the comprehensive dictionary of computer sciences. The results of the research show that conceptual metaphors “computer is a human”, “computer programs are humans “ and “computer is a building” which are situated in our minds, have provided an appropriate ground for understanding and using the concepts of this scientific area. The mentioned conceptual metaphors are activated unconsciously and then metaphorical mapping between the source domain and the target domain is created. It is on the ground of this mapping that abstract and complex concepts are expressed and understood. The results substantiate the significant role of metaphor in creating and understanding concepts in the computer sciences area so much so that many of these concepts cannot be expressed without metaphorical language.

Genesis of grammatical constituents and transition way of them is one of the most important problem in Linguistics. Persian language is the heritage of great land of Iran that studying the transition of its language "Persian" from the historical way is so valuable. The two volumes of "Persian language over time" are so valuable in transition way and process on grammatical constituents in Persian language. The frame work of these books is based on grammaticalization that is declared by its levels. Grammaticalization is based on frame work that is concerned to study of grammatical possibilitis, use and function of them(Nagzguy-Kohan,1393: 175). The main feature of this book is the arrage of it from the esiest one and the main one to the most complicated one. It is so good for readers who are not familiar in this subject.
